Exhaustion is a Lifestyle

I am exhausted every single day. And I don't mean that I am tired and need a nap or good nights rest (even though that is 100% true), I mean, that in every aspect of life I am exhausted. My to-do list is never ending and I constantly feel as if I will never get caught up or figure out what is meant to happen in this crazy life. Just as everyone else, I am rolling with the punches and my crazy wild life is exhausting.

  • Writing down never ending pages of notes is exhausting.
  • Finding my place in the world is exhausting.
  • Walking to my car to go anywhere is exhausting.
  • Sitting in long dreadful lectures is exhausting.
  • Going from one job to the next to the next is exhausting.
  • Trying to be understood is exhausting.
  • Getting out of bed every day is exhausting.
  • Other humans are exhausting.
  • Trying to constantly please people is exhausting.
  • Responsibilities are exhausting.
  • Completing every little dainty task each day is exhausting.
  •  Shall I continue?

The list goes on and on, and I am sure you can agree. BUT, with everything that is exhausting I can still sit here and say that I absolutely love my life and am happy every single day. That is what I think is different about people who live similarly to me; some of us know how to make even the bad, good, which is how we get through our days. When all of these little things seem entirely way too daunting to accomplish, I start anyway and before I know it I have done more than I planned and still have time for myself and a social life. I have tips for how you too can accomplish living every day to the fullest and happiest potential, but every tip is based on personal preference and living styles.

1. Just START.

It will all seem exhausting if you sit there and do nothing. If you start the first thing on your to-do list, or get up and go to class instead of skipping you are already one step closer to getting everything done. Once you start one thing it is easier to tackle even more.

2. When things seem bad, tell yourself it cannot affect you

When it seems daunting, negative, or overwhelming remind yourself that you can do it and you can mentally get passed it to keep your day happy and worthwhile. If you let it get in your head, it will. If you don't, it won't. Simple (although it is easier said than done and you really need to practive your mental strength).

3. Remind yourself that eventually you will catch up

If you keep pushing toward the end goal, you can eventually feel comfortable enough to sit down and relax, take a nap, or go to bed early and sleep in. If you keep working hard you will have time for yourself and that is ultimately what is most important.
